Measure with care and I would recommend 1/4' narrower than what the tape measure says the panel width actually is, the stuff is a bit difficult to put in place. Try to install it'upwards', that is to say get the upper edge into the slot as much as possible, move it into the vertical open strut side of the panel being filled, then curve the panel and get the bottom into the lower slot and into the space properly. By the third panel or so you will get the hang of it.. Cut cleanly from the plastic sheathed side using a wide snap blade knife extended about 1-1/2 inches using a drywall'T' square for best results. You will need a shop vac when done, the styrofoam balls and bits end up all over the place in the cutting and install areas. Better than replacing your garage door.

There styrofoam panels are cut to fit each door section and are 1.25 inches thick. So it is easy to install and highly effective. Easy install, messy clean up. Make sure you measure 2 and cut once.

The tiny balls of Styrofoam are everywhere. I used a shop vac as I pulled each panel out of the box to help trap them. Also factory edges are not all cut straight. So check each end before you make your cut to insure a good tight fit.
