25' of Self-Weighted Airline - no weights required! Decide On Location - Decide on a location for the compressor. Its important to elevate the compressor a few inches above ground level, making sure the compressor is above the ponds water surface.

If power is not available at the ponds edge, the compressor may be located at the power source and extra airline can be added (up to 100) to reach your desired diffuser location. NOTE: It is recommended that the compressor be covered and not exposed directly to the elements. This can be accomplished by purchasing a small TrueRock cover (Item #510330). If you decide to use your own cover, make sure it will keep water from coming in direct contact with the compressor and that there is plenty of ventilation.

Connect The Airline - Connect the weighted airline to the outlet on the compressor using the 21/4 rubber connector and included spring clamps. Connect the other end of the airline to the diffuser. No clamp is needed on the diffuser end.

Place Your Diffusers - Find a location in your water garden to place the diffuser. In case of extreme temperatures (hot or cold), it is recommended to relocate plates from the deepest points of your pond.

Our Notes: We spent some time talking to a representative from Airmax. This aeration kit alone would aerate an appropriately sized water garden WITHOUT the use of a pump. We're not recommending that you get rid of your pump. When you are out enjoying your pond, plug your pump back in to enjoy the splash and sound of moving water. In winter, the water agitation will keep an open hole above the diffuser when the rest of the pond is iced over.

So you will not need a heater. The vertical circulation of water will help aid in algae control. The use of a sludge-controlling beneficial bacteria is still recommended, but you shouldn't need your other algae-control chemicals.
