Controlling the sprinklers is Rain Bird's heavy duty timer with large readout screen and simple scroll settings for automatic watering any days of the week and up to two times per day. Flexible scheduling allows customizing your settings for specific needs such as watering of slopes where two short cycles will allow the water to soak in better, avoiding runoff waste. The timer also features manual buttons for'Water Now' and'Cancel' watering without affecting the program. An illustrated manual shows the 5-step installation process as well as example sprinkler placements for different lawn areas. Sprinklers retract into the lawn for a clean, uncluttered appearance and easier mowing.

Have a small back yard.. Have a small back yard that was mostly dirt. Took me a couple of part-time days to get it laid out as directed, and only needed five of the six sprinkler heads.

Digging was the hardest part, running into an occasional root that I either had to cut or to dig under. Once in the ground they worked like a charm.

Put down grass seed with an automatic time set for 10 minutes twice a day and it has all sprouted. I may have cracked the assembly where the buried hose meets the timer because it was so hard to screw down that I used pliers, but Rain Bird is sending a replacement for free.

May be putting one in the front yard before the summer is out. Very easy to install and get working. Only down side is most parts are only found in the kit and not on the shelves for extras. Great product - super easy to install and works as advertised!
